GSS seems to have stopped bouncing my comments, hurrah. It doesn't want to do previews, but otherwise, all well. I was beginning to wonder if you'd installed a quality filter. "That joke doesn't meet up to standards, so we're just going to pretend it never existed."

Oh, and sorry about the Minotaur balls. Can't help it. It's the way my mind works. It's a good thing they didn't feature on the cover, though...

Well it's more like designer stubble than a full beard. Nothing compared to ole Zeus!

We did have a good chat about books. She was reading twilight..... Though she does seem to read some good stuff as well so I did suggested some real vampire books.

Saw you were able to comment today without issue. I'm not too sure what is going on and I can't see a good reason why it would stop you. The trouble comes from hosting the site on a server run by a security paranoid flat mate. If you have anymore problems just let me know.

I'm laughing myself! Good thing you have a beard. Otherwise it might have been a weird compliment.

And maybe, just maybe, it was a chat up line. You never know. It would be something to tell the grandkids. "We bonded over this book cover..."

By the way, why have my comments on Good Show Sir been getting bounced recently? Am I still being screened out by your server on grounds of taste and decency (regardless of what I actually say)?

Thought you might appreciate this one.

I was reading the Age of Zeus (which I very much enjoyed even the details of minotaur balls) in my work coffee house. A student who I had helped earlier was sitting just across from me chatting to her friends. Our eyes caught each other and she leaned over saying, "Nice beard." Thinking it was some sort of chat up line and being the handsome devil I am, I smiled stroking my beard and replied, "Thanks, I grew it myself." To which she unfortunately shook her head. "No, I mean on the book."

It took me several minutes to stop laughing.

Birch beer is one of those things that doesn't seem to cross the Pond. Like root beer, and sarsparilla (or however you spell it). As a kid I always used to wonder what that was, sarsparilla, whenever a Ray Bradbury story mentioned it. Sounded so exotic.
